PROSCENIUM


     The main aim of the competition was a residential building for artists and students at affordable prices, a gallery on the ground floor with a public character. The plot is located in Svartlamon, an self-governing community in the city of Trondheim, Norway.
     Central to the project's conception is the optimal organization of the program in response to the tacit restrictions imposed by the long, narrow geometry of the site. Filling the site solid with development, the residential uses naturally gravitate to the boundary in search of light and the public uses consolidate at the centre of the site. This public core is realized as void space. This void space is a generous semi-open, public courtyard, accessed from the public passageway and is conceived as a space to for regularly hosting events, exhibitions and performances. It is intensely programmed and activated acting as a theatrical set for visual art and performances, exposing art and culture to the residents and the public.
     The Masterplan suggests a series of carefully placed interventions that act as satelites of the former submarine bunker 'Dora 1'such as an open air multi-function space on the roof, a sunken plaza forming the main entrance, a spiral amphitheatre as s as marketplace.

     To ζητούμενο πρόγραμμα ήταν ένα κτήριο κατοικιών, με μια γκαλλερι που θα έχει χαρακτήρα δημόσιου χώρου στην Svartlamon, μια αυτοδιαχειριζόμενη κοινότητα στην πόλη Trondheim της Νορβηγίας.Η πρόταση που βραβευτηκέ με το πρώτο βραβείο αποτελείται από ένα κτήριο που γέρνει προς το νότο για να επιτρέψει φυσικό φωτισμό, μακρινές θέες με σεβασμό στην κλίμακα της περιοχής. Η δημόσια «ράμπα» για πεζούς και ποδηλάτες σε όλο το μήκος του κτηρίου οδηγεί σε μια εγκοπή στην μπροστινή όψη, που λειτουργεί σαν ένα αστικό μπαλκόνι προς το λιμάνι. Ο δημόσιος χώρος στο κέντρο του κτηρίου επιτρέπει την άμεση επαφή των κατοίκων με τα εικαστικά δρώμενα, τις αυτοσχέδιες παραστάσεις καθώς και με τους ίδιους τους καλλιτέχνες-κατοίκους, ενώ παράλληλα λειτουργεί και σαν «προθάλαμος» της ευρύτερης ανάπλασης της περιοχής με οδηγό την τέχνη. Η σύνθεση των όγκων, διάτρητοι στο εσωτερικό και αυστηροί στο εξωτερικό ολοκληρώνουν το κτήριο.
     Για την αστική ανάπλαση της περιοχής προτείναμε ένα σύστημα δορυφόρων γύρω από τη Δώρα 1, ο επιβλητικός πρώην σταθμός υποβρυχίων που έχει μετατραπεί σε χώρο πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων όπως μια βυθισμένη πλατεία με αθλητικές υποδομές , ενώ στην οροφή σχεδιάσαμε έναν προνομιακό χώρο για ανοικτά δρώμενα.
